The University’s catering company uses locally-sourced, free-range ingredients wherever possible, with over half of the suppliers being based within the West Midlands.
We are aware of the need to reduce the carbon footprint of academic travel; we encourage participants to take into consideration the environmental impact of their travel options. The University is serviced by its own train station, and accessible public transportation runs frequently between the UoB campus and downtown Birmingham. Terrapass offers some helpful information on carbon offsetting.
