A Message from BAVS:

Although BAVS had anticipated holding a conference in 2021, the Executive Committee has decided against organising a large conference this year, given the current, ongoing circumstances. Instead, BAVS is putting significant energy into organising a sustained series of smaller activities and talks (many of which are free to members) throughout the rest of the year, and has launched the BAVS@Home series of online events. These events are taking place regularly, to offer more sustained opportunities for members to participate online in the Victorian research community throughout the year.

We are delighted to confirm, however, that the University of Birmingham will be hosting the 2022 BAVS conference (1-3 September 2022), by which time we anticipate that the impact of the pandemic will be greatly reduced, enabling a secure return to more in-person events.

The 2022 BAVS Conference committee working hard to organise what promises to be excellent annual conference next year. Guidance about the BAVS 2022 CFP will be released in due course. The 2022 conference will be a much-anticipated return to the annual conference. BAVS also hopes to see many members at some of the BAVS@Home events throughout the 2021, in lieu of an annual conference this year.

We hope that you aren’t disappointed that there won’t be a 2021 BAVS conference, but if you do have any further queries about this you can direct these to the BAVS Secretary, Dr Alice Crossley (acrossley@lincoln.ac.uk), who’ll be happy to help.
