The main venue at the UoB campus is the new Teaching and Learning Building, where we will be based for Monday and Tuesday; it is in the final stages of construction now, but we expect it will be fully accessible and we’ll add further details as they become available.
Wednesday’s session will be held at the historic Birmingham and Midland Institute. It is a Victorian building with some accessibility limitations (see details here: https://bmi.org.uk/accessibility/) but all BAVS events will be held in rooms that are accessible to all.
Catering will be meat-free throughout the conference, with vegan and gluten-free options available. You’ll be able to let us know your specific requirements when you register.
In line with best practices for accessible conferences, we expect microphones to be used throughout the venues.
We will aim to provide a quiet space at both conference venues, in addition to a dedicated space for nursing/pumping. Further details will be posted as we have them.
We’ll gather info on accessibility needs at registration, but in the meantime if you have any questions or any suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact the conference organisers.
